AUREVOIR (HU)

Aurevoir is an ethno-beat band consisting of young people from Zsámbék and its surroundings. They started their career in March 2015 as a six-member group, and after several lineup changes, the band now consists of eight musicians. From the beginning, they aimed not to restrict themselves or their music to strictly defined genre boundaries; the term ethno-beat indicates that their songs are most influenced by the folk music of the Carpathian Basin and Anglo-Saxon beat-folk, which have had the greatest impact on their creative activities. Their main role models are prominent figures of the táncház movement and the beat movement.

Their music is conceptually diverse; just as the motifs of Hungarian, Roma, Irish, and South Slavic folk music and the beat music of the 1960s, so too do the worlds of French café chansons and old Renaissance and Baroque music serve as a foundation for their songs. The band's name ("goodbye!") suggests that in popular music today, distinct, sharply separable styles are no longer observed, and popular music creations increasingly arise as a result of mixing these styles. Aurevoir. bids farewell to the old era while opening up to the new, in which previously established musical styles reappear.
