After the initial viral success of their solo “Plody moří”, Bert & Friends managed to solidify their status as an entertaining yet highly sophisticated phenomenon in the Czech scene. Their blend of colorful 80s dream pop, psychedelia, and catchy melodies left no doubt that they were a significant discovery of recent times, offering a glimpse into the future of pop music in our country. Following several singles and iconic music videos, the band released the EP "SUPR" in 2019 (nominated for Discovery of the Year at the Anděl Awards) and embarked on sold-out tours, including a packed MeetFactory in Prague. Last year, the band received the Anděl Award for Video of the Year for the song "Piš mi básně" from their acclaimed EP "Panna a netvor." They also released an innovative live album titled "2050: Live at Strahov," for which they received the Apollo Award.
At the helm of the group is Albert Romanutti, whose creative signature betrays his background as a trained composer. However, he is also someone who seeks to do things differently and innovatively. Bert & Friends inject a breath of eccentricity into the Czech pop scene that has been missing for a long time.
